Chery has revealed a larger sibling to its Omoda 5 small SUV, the plug-in hybrid Omoda 7.

Looking like a mid-size rival to the likes of the Haval H6 or MG HS, the 2025 Chery Omoda 7 PHEV was seen at a launch event in Chery’s home city of Wuhu in China by Malaysian outlet PaulTan.org.

Chery hasn’t publicly revealed much in the way of details, but the publication heard that the model will feature a 1.5-litre petrol four-cylinder engine paired with a battery pack that will allow a claimed 1250km total driving range, 95km of which is electric.

A purely combustion-powered version is also on the way, but no details have been confirmed.

According to reports, the Omoda 7 is 4621mm long, 1872mm wide and 1673mm tall, and has a 2700mm wheelbase, while visually featuring a mix of familiar and new Omoda design elements. Lexus might have something to say about its front.

Inside, a large 15.6-inch central multimedia touchscreen can be slid along the dash to the front passenger side, while the steering wheel is said to have a design inspired by the PlayStation 5’s.

Active noise cancelling, a fragrance system for the climate control and a voice-activated lane-change function within the advanced driver assistance system all feature in the Omoda 7, though buttons for main controls seem to be lacking according to the images out of its reveal event.
