Powerhouse Kia EV9 GT EV SUV timing confirmed... and it's quick! Super seven-seater electric car will deliver a "unique performance experience"

Kia says the EV9 GT will hit 100km/h in 4.0 seconds

Kia's top executive has confirmed key details relating to the much-anticipated high-performance GT version of the brand’s flagship EV9 electric SUV.

Speaking at this year’s Kia CEO Investor Day, company President & CEO Ho-Sung Song confirmed January 2025 release timing for the supercar fast seven-seater, which should put it in Australian showrooms around the middle of next year.

At the same time, the presentation slide supporting Mr Song’s presentation proudly stated the “high-output dual-motor” EV9 GT will deliver “enormous power output resulting in 0-100km/h in 4.0 seconds”.

As well as inclusion of a “reinforced suspension” set-up and an “electronic braking system” for “stable driving performance at high speeds”.

According to Mr Song, the dual-motor EV9 GT and the similarly-specified (430kW/740Nm) EV6 GT that preceded it are part of Kia’s plans to “continuously release GT trims for its dedicated EVs”.

Kia's top executive has confirmed key details relating to the much-anticipated EV9 GT.

And the GT EV program is part of the Korean maker’s ambition to stand as a “Tier 1” EV brand with 1.6 million (annual) global EV sales in 2030.

And when it comes to local pricing, the EV9 GT is likely to push the bar even higher for the brand. With the current top-spec EV9 GT-Line sitting at $121,000, before on-road costs), expect the full-fat version to push beyond the $130K threshold.
