Glam van! 2023 Volkswagen Multivan Edition is a limited-edition plush people-mover - pricing and features

A generous 250 VW Multivan Editions are marked to be offered locally.

Volkswagen Australia has announced pricing for a limited-edition version of the Multivan, called ‘Edition’, as part of a continued expansion of its van range.

Starting at $76,990 before on-road costs, the VW Multivan Edition will include a range of features over the Multivan Comfortline Premium TDI340 which it surpasses in the model range by $7500. It’s available only with Volkswagen’s 110kW 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

For the extra cash, buyers get a ‘multifunction’ adjustable rear table, integrated booster seat within a rear ‘captain’s chair’, a wood effect floor and an 8.0-inch 'Discover Media Navigation' multimedia system with Digital Cockpit and wireless app connect.

The front swivel seats are now heated, while two more USB-C ports and LED interior lighting increase functionality. The rear passenger section also gets darker privacy glass and an 'Edition' side step light.

From the outside, there are ‘Edition’ decals on the sliding doors and on the tailgate which is electric for the Edition, while the roof and B-pillar are both finished in black.

A set of 17-inch black alloy wheels and a full-sized steel spare also feature.

The Multivan Edition is available in a variety of colours: Candy White, Pure Grey, Cherry Red, Ravenna Blue Metallic, Mojave Beige Metallic, Reflex Silver Metallic, or Indium Grey Metallic.

In terms of safety, the Edition includes front assist with city emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring with rear traffic alert, park distance control rear with rear view camera, LED headlights and LED DRLs, dark-tinted tail-lights, fog lights with cornering function and Light Assist.

Volkswagen has 250 units of the Multivan Edition to sell in Australia, which means buyers should have time to seek one out and snap one up. So far in 2022, Volkswagen has sold a total 333 Multivans (to the end of September) compared to 791 in the same period last year.

VW Australia says to expect further expansion of its van range, and pointed out the recent additions of the Caddy California and California 6.1 Beach. It says to expect more ‘specific’ versions of vans to follow.

“Unique models continue to define the growing Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles offerings in 2022 by targeting specific-use applications that are tailored to particular customers,” the company said in a media release.
