Is this the world's most luxurious family car? 2025 Zeekr 009 Grand has been revealed in China to rival the Lexus LM500h

Emerging brand Zeekr has detailed its new 009 Grand super-luxury people mover.

New Chinese brand Zeekr is dialling up the luxury with its new electric 009 Grand.

The regular 009 is due in Australia at the end of this year but Zeekr has yet to confirm if the pimped-out version of the people mover will arrive Down Under.

The super-luxe 009 Grand has a bold look with a Rolls-Royce Cullinan-styled front end, 20-inch alloy-wheels with a laser etched pattern and a massive boxy silhouette.

The interior matches the outside with some wild features that need to be seen to be believed.

Top of the list is a 31-speaker Yamaha stereo and hand-polished Himalayan marble inlaid on the cockpit.

This is complemented by a giant 43-inch LED smart screen in the rear and a four seat layout with two captain’s chairs in the rear that nearly recline flat and are wrapped in supple leather upholstery.

A small fridge in the rear can heat and cool and has an ultraviolet sterilisation function, which Zeekr says makes it ideal for a range of items from champagne to cigars and even baby food.

Back seat passengers are treated to a monster 43-inch smart screen.

The 009 Grand comes with “light curtain glass” that has 10 levels of brightness to shade passengers from the outside world. At its darkest Zeekr claims only 0.5 per cent of light enters the cabin.

Equally astounding is the vehicle's price in China, which translates to more than $170,000 in Australian dollars. It could break the $200,000 mark if it ever makes it to local showrooms.

Zeekr also promises class-leading performance with the 009 Grand able to complete the benchmark 0-100km/h sprint in 3.9 seconds thanks to its multiple electric motors delivering all-wheel-drive grip.

It is built with 800-volt electric architecture, which enables ultra-fast charging.

Zeekr claims it can add 500km of driving range in just 12 minutes. It has a total driving range of 702km based on the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC), which is much more generous than the widely used Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP).

The 009 Grand's rear seats fold almost completely flat.

The 009 Grand appears to be a direct rival to the Lexus LM500h that launched in Australia at the start of 2024 and is priced from $220,888 (before on-road costs).

The LM500h has a four-seat layout with seats that nearly recline flat in the rear and its 48-inch screen in the rear trumps the one found in the 009 Grand.

Zeekr is preparing to launch in the Australian market this year and has confirmed to CarsGuide two new models will arrive by the end of the year.

One is the standard version of the 009 and the other is the Zeekr X.

The X borrows heavily from its Volvo XC40 cousin and is expected to have two electric motors delivering potent performance and all-paw traction.
