    Cherokee rattles at start up

    Jeep Jeep Advice Jeep Cherokee Jeep Cherokee Advice Jeep Cherokee 2012

    On cold starts my 2012 Jeep Cherokee 3.7-litre has a rattle in the top of the motor that settles after 60 seconds or so. The Jeep has 60,000km up and is still under warranty. My Brisbane dealer says this is normal operational noise. I was told to have an independent oil analysis just before service, which I have done twice and the results have been normal. Apart from this rattle the vehicle has been great. Have you heard of this in other KK Cherokees?

    A cold-start rattle is not unusual while oil gets to the top of an engine but you should push Jeep for a serious investigation. A better-quality oil might also help.
