    Ford Ranger gear change

    I have had trouble with the gearbox in my 2008 Ford Ranger 4x4 ute slipping out of fifth gear and was wondering if it is an issue with them. Also, the clutch has a slight shudder and I have read that there is a problem with the clutches in these vehicles, but Ford refuses to admit they have a faulty or weak clutch system. What do you know about these issues?

    We haven’t had other reports of a problem with fifth gear in the Ranger, but we have had reports of clutch problems with the Ranger and the Mazda BT-50, as we have with a number of one-tonne utes. No one has yet to admit to a fault unfortunately, so you’re on your own should your clutch fail.
