I HAVE an 1985 Toyota van and it backfired and blew open the back muffler. When I tried to drive it if I put my foot down it spluttered and carried on till I backed off. Once home I turned it off and now can't start it. One plug is wet, but the other three are bone dry. There is good spark and everything, but it won't kick. I have replaced the cracked distributor cap and also the rotor button. Please help if you can.
SOUNDS as if you've got a problem with timing. Go back to basics of spark and fuel. If you've got both, in the right quantity, and at the right time it should run. Check the ignition timing and make sure its set correctly to specification, then check the ignition points and make sure they are clean and correctly set.
