    Mitsubishi Triton: Blowing smoke

    Since the warranty ran out on my 2013 MN Mitsubishi Triton 2.5-litre turbo-diesel I've had to repair various things, such as a split air intake hose and split turbo intercooler hose. I have had the upper and lower manifolds cleaned by a diesel mechanic, and now I have a lot of smoke coming out of the exhaust while driving in top gear when sitting at around 1800 rpm and above. My mechanic thinks it could be the injectors, but it doesn't blow smoke at all when I drop it back to third gear, like the timing is out or its getting too much fuel at the wrong time? Could it be the ECU has issues maybe a factory default?

    I reckon your mechanic is on the money with the injectors. Worn injectors are a common problem on common-rail diesels; it's something that affects most brands
