I bought a Nissan X-Trail last year and had to have the brake pads replaced and the discs machined within 20,000km at my cost because that's not covered by the warranty. The dealership and Nissan blamed my driving. The car has now done 40,000km and again I have brake shudder, and again I have to pay for it. I have always had Holdens and never had to replace pads or machine discs within the three years I usually have them. Should this problem be occurring so often, and should Nissan or the dealership do something about it?
Brakes are not covered by warranties. They're considered consumables like tyres, filters and so on. But that presumes you get reasonable mileage out them. In this case you are certainly not getting reasonable mileage. Though Nissan and its dealer are telling you to go away, I'd persist with Nissan head office. I think it has a moral obligation as a good corporate citizen to fix your problem instead of hiding behind the warranty.
