Volkswagen Australia has announced pricing for a limited-edition version of theĀ Multivan, called āEditionā, as part of a continued expansion of its van range.
Starting at $76,990 before on-road costs, the VW Multivan Edition will include a range of features over the Multivan Comfortline Premium TDI340 which it surpasses in the model rangeĀ by $7500. Itās available only with Volkswagenās 110kW 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
For the extra cash, buyers get a āmultifunctionā adjustable rear table, integrated booster seat within a rear ācaptainās chairā, a wood effect floor and an 8.0-inch 'Discover Media Navigation'Ā multimedia system with Digital Cockpit and wireless app connect.
The front swivel seats are now heated, while two more USB-C ports and LED interior lighting increase functionality. The rear passenger section also gets darker privacy glass and an 'Edition' side step light.
From the outside, there are āEditionā decals on the sliding doors and on the tailgate which is electric for the Edition, while the roof and B-pillar are both finished in black.Ā
A set of 17-inch black alloy wheels and a full-sized steel spare also feature.
The Multivan Edition is availableĀ in a variety of colours: Candy White, Pure Grey, Cherry Red, Ravenna Blue Metallic, Mojave Beige Metallic, Reflex Silver Metallic, or Indium Grey Metallic.
In terms of safety, the Edition includes front assist with city emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring with rear traffic alert, park distance control rear with rear view camera, LED headlights and LED DRLs, dark-tinted tail-lights, fog lights with cornering function and Light Assist.
Volkswagen has 250 units of the Multivan Edition to sell in Australia, which means buyers should have time to seek one out and snap one up. So far in 2022, Volkswagen has sold a total 333 Multivans (to the end of September) compared to 791 in the same period last year.
VW Australia says to expect further expansionĀ of its van range, andĀ pointedĀ out the recent additions of the Caddy California and California 6.1 Beach. ItĀ says to expect more āspecificā versions of vans to follow.
āUnique models continue to define the growing Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles offerings in 2022 by targeting specific-use applications that are tailored to particular customers,ā the company said in a media release.
