High grades! 2023 Nissan Pathfinder updated with higher entry pricing

A couple of small changes mean the Pathfinder is now a little more expensive than before.

Nissan has given the two remaining variants of its Pathfinder range a small update, along with a price rise for 2023.

After Nissan earlier this year streamlined the Pathfinder range to two variants, the new entry variant is the all-wheel drive version of the Ti, starting from $71,490 before on-road costs.

This is only up by $1460 on the model year 2022 Ti, but it’s $17,300 more expensive than the previously range-opening ST was.

The top-spec Ti-L also remains, but is now $81,490, or $1263 more expensive than it was last year.

The changes to these two models are not just a pricing adjustment, as Nissan has added ‘walk-away lock’ and a new key fob to both variants for MY23.

“The price changes reflect their newly increased equipment specifications,” a spokesperson told CarsGuide.

Both variants are still powered by a 3.5-litre petrol V6 with 202kW and 340Nm.

In terms of reasoning for the model range cull made in February, Nissan Australia told us supply issues are the key cause.

“We have opted to streamline the Pathfinder line-up due to unavoidable supply constraints and ongoing disruption in the global production environment.”

The decision to keep the two highest grades is in line with the fact Australians tend to buy well-specified variants over base models, with Nissan adding that the Ti and Ti-L are the “most popular trim levels amongst Australian customers”.
