Mini 60 Years Edition 2019 pricing and specs confirmed

Mini has added a new special edition model to its range that celebrates 60 years of the brand - the inventively-named Mini 60 Years Edition.

The new special model is available across the Cooper and Cooper S hatchback variants, in both three- and five-door body styles, and it brings a number of cosmetic changes and an apparent $8500 value boost - but they each cost $4000 more than the respective models they’re based on.

The changes include a model-specific paint finish that “reinterprets” the classic British Racing Green hue, and there’s a white finish for the roof. If the classic look isn’t for you, there’s the option of Midnight Black or Lapis Luxury Blue, both of which have a black roof finish. All versions ride on model-specific 17-inch alloy wheels, and all have special bonnet stripes included.

The interior of the Mini 60 Years Edition has a standard-fit Dark Cacao brown leather trim with unique badges and green piping for the model with green paint, while the others have Carbon Black leather trim with no specific piping or details. All versions get a unique finish on the dash as well as piano black vent surrounds.

The additional equipment for the Cooper 60 Years over the regular version includes keyless entry, LED headlights, front seat heating and wireless phone charging. It is powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo engine producing 100kW/220Nm, and the prices below are for the six-speed manual - you’ll have to pay extra for the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic

Mini Australia hasn’t confirmed just how many examples of the 60 Years Edition will be sold yet. We’ll update this story when we find out. The prices for the auto models haven’t been stipulated yet, either.
