The SsangYong Tivoli XLV will be phased out globally as the brand rationalises its line-up in preparation for the arrival of the new Korando model.
The all-new Korando - essentially a competitor to the Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage - is set to fill the gap between the smaller, shorter Tivoli compact SUV and the larger Rexton off-roader. And that means the existing Tivoli XLV is set to axed - not only in Australia, but worldwide.
The Tivoli XLV - the suffix stands for ‘eXciting Lifestyle Vehicle’ according to marketing literature, though it can also denote ‘eXtra Long Vehicle’ - has been the gap filler for the Korando since the brand launched under company control late in 2018.
The XLV model of the Tivoli will make way when the facelifted 2020 Tivoli arrives around August 2019, which is about the same time as the Korando.

Despite offering a large cargo capacity, the new Korando can’t match the outgoing Tivoli XLV’s back end - the Korando is claimed to have 551 litres of boot space (VDA), while the Tivoli XLV’s luggage space is said to be a huge 720L.
The all-new Korando will offer tech that hasn’t yet been seen from the brand, including an Infinity Mood lighting system with a 3D LED ambient lighting effect, plus new digital solutions for the car’s multimedia and driver information cluster.
The new Korando will go on sale in Australia in July.
