Toyota Australia has raised prices for most of its models by as much as $1890 as it passes on the increasing costs of raw materials, labour and manufacturing onto the consumer.
“Toyota Australia has reluctantly taken the decision to increase the Recommended Retail Prices (RRP) for most of our range, effective 1 July 2023,” a spokesperson told CarsGuide.
“We provided our dealers with the information ahead of implementation to assist them in managing their business and communicating openly and transparently with customers regarding vehicles to be delivered after that date.

“The increases are due to increased costs and inflationary pressures outside of our control such as more expensive raw materials, labour, tooling and packaging which are feeding into higher manufacturing costs.”
The only Toyota Australia models not affected by the price rise are vehicles set to be replaced in the near future, including the no-longer-for-sale first-generation C-HR crossover, soon-to-be-discontinued Prado and the LandCruiser 70 Series workhorse.
The only exception to this is the GR86 sports car, which remains the same price after having launched only in September last year.
Starting at the affordable end, the Toyota Yaris line-up moves up $160, now priced from $24,800 before on-road costs, but the performance-focused GR and GR Rallye jump up $1890 to $51,390 and $56,390 respectively.
The Corolla hatch steps up $980 to start from $28,630, with the exception of the GR version that is up $1890 (now from $64,190) and the limited GR Corolla Morizo Edition that is actually down $1373 to $76,427 due to changes to the luxury car tax.
Four-door sedan versions of the Corolla however, are up only $640, with the entry-level kicking off from $29,270.
Aside from the aforementioned GR variants, the Camry actually cops the largest price jump of $1830 to start at $34,320.
Meanwhile, the two-grade Granvia – both available in six- or eight-seat configurations – is up $690 for the base trim, but down $840 for the top-spec VX due to LCT tweaks.
As for the GR Supra, prices are up a modest $380 (now starting from $87,380), while the Yaris Cross features the smallest price increase of $160 (from $28,000).
The larger Corolla Cross sibling however, is up $980 across the board to start from $33,980.
Australia’s most popular SUV, the Toyota RAV4, jumps up a noticeable $1710 to start from $39,760, and the three-row Kluger is now priced from $51,790 after jumping $670 in GX and GXL trim.
However, the top-spec Kluger Grande only moves up $247 to $73,257 in front-drive form, while the AWD version is actually $470 less than before at $75,650.
Over with the slow-selling Fortuner, prices are up $1810 across all three grades, now starting from $53,775.
As for the popular LandCruiser 300 Series, pricing is up $1620 to kick off at $94,301, topping out at $142,101 for the GR-S grade that is currently the most expensive Toyota Australia model.
All versions of the HiAce van are now up $760, starting from $47,120, while the HiAce Commuter 12-seat buss is $1100 pricier, from $74,670.
However, Australia’s most popular model, the HiLux ute, sees price rises of $560-$1100, depending on grade.
