The LBX is the smallest and most affordable Lexus model, riding on the compact TNGA-B platform.
It arrives in two variants, with this one being the entry-level Luxury. It is only available in front-wheel-drive format, costing $47,550 before on-roads.
Both LBX grades are powered by the same 1.5-litre three-cylinder hybrid powertrain, providing a combined 100kW, and a peak torque output of 185Nm.
It is ultra-efficient, with an official fuel consumption of just 3.8L/100km.
The Luxury is the best-value LBX, providing the lion's share of equipment at a keen price-point. Included as standard is 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, tail-lights and foglights; auto-dimming wing mirrors with auto folding, and tinted windows, alongside such interior luxuries as synthetic leather interior trim, a 9.8-inch multimedia touchscreen with voice recognition, sat-nav, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a wireless phone charger, ambient interior lighting, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a surround-view parking camera, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry and push-start ignition, eight-way power adjust for the driver’s seat, a power tailgate and heated front seats.
Like other Lexus models, the LBX comes with a three-year subscription to the brand's Encore ownership program, which includes a free loan car or pick-up and drop-off at service time, invitations to events and drive days, and deals with partnered hotels.
The LBX is the first Lexus to be offered with a new full-service leasing program, which includes registration, insurance, servicing, and the cost of the vehicle in one monthly payment for an agreed term.
The LBX is offered with a five-year and unlimited-kilometre warranty, and a fixed-price service program, with prices set at $595 annually for the first five years.
