The LBX is the smallest and most affordable new Lexus, and the Sport Luxury was the top-spec offering at its Australian launch.
Offered with a choice of 2WD ($52,990) or AWD ($56,990) drivetrains, both combine a 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine with electric motors in a plugless hybrid set-up.
Combined power is 100kW regardless of variant.
The Sports Luxury gets a 18-inch alloys in an alternate design, additional contrast trims on the rear pillar, interior trims in a blend of synthetic leather and suede, genuine leather trims for the steering wheel and shifter, power adjust for the steering column with paddle shifters and a heated steering wheel function, haptic feedback controls on the steering wheel, multi-colour ambient lighting, a head-up display, an ‘engine sound enhancement’ with active noise cancellation, a 13-speaker Mark Levinson audio system, and an ‘Advanced Park’ feature where the car can park itself.
This adds to the base car's LED headlights, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 9.8-inch multimedia touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charger, dual-zone climate, keyless entry and push-start ignition, powered tailgate and eight-way power adjustment for the driver's seat.
Like other Lexus models, the LBX comes with a three-year subscription to the brand's Encore ownership program, which includes a free loan car or pick-up and drop-off at service time, invitations to events and drive days, and deals with partnered hotels.
The LBX is the first Lexus to be offered with a new full-service leasing program, which includes registration, insurance, servicing, and the cost of the vehicle in one monthly payment for an agreed term.
The LBX is offered with a five-year and unlimited-kilometre warranty, and a fixed-price service program, with prices set at $595 annually for the first five years.
