The Falcon XD was introduced in 1979 following the Falcon XC. A redesign was undertaken, borrowing inspiration from Ford Europes Ford Granada Mark II. The XD model range saw the removal of the 2-door hardtop body shape, but saw the introduction of limited models such as the European Sports Pack, S Pack and Limited Edition Fairmont Ghia. 302 and 351 ci V8 engine options were available as well as the 3.3 and 4.1 litre straight six. Notable examples include Dick Johnsons Tru-Blue XD, which won the 1981 James Hardie 1000. This particular example is a tough factory 351ci V8 1981 Ford Falcon XD with a serious presence on road.
