Wicked little mid-engined sports cars aren’t quite the first thing that comes to mind when Toyota is mentioned, but there were three generations of the Toyota MR2 that were capable of everything from putting a huge grin on an owner’s face, to leaving an inexperienced pilot rather terrified.
In its first generation in the second half of the 1980s, a supercharged version of the MR2 was famously a challenge to steer at high speeds, while later generations came with turbocharged options (the second generation through the 1990s) or with no forced induction at all (third generation, the 2000s).
The line-up currently starts at $4,510 for the MR2 Spyder and ranges through to $6,710 for the range-topping MR2 Spyder.
