If cars were Hollywood celebrities then the Aston Martin DB5 would be an A-lister thanks to its starring role in the 1960s Bond movies with Sean Connery as secret agent 007 at the wheel.

Bond’s DB5 was full of gadgets to enable quick getaways and of course the real DB5 was low in espionage tech, but fairly special for the time anyway. Built from 1963-’65 the DB5 had an aluminium 4.0-litre inline six making up to 210kW with a five-speed manual gear box. Top speed was 233km /h with a 0-100km/h time of just over eight seconds.

Designed by Federico Formenti with the Italian coachbuilding company Carrozzeria Touring Superleggra the DB5 is a magnesium-bodied GT-style sportscar with 2+2 seating.

In 2020 another 25 DB5s were made by Aston Martin to commemorate the Bond movies - the cars actually had some gadgets from the films including revolving number plates and oil slick deployment.
