The Audi RS6’s relatively sensible sedan and wagon looks are underpinned by supercar-level performance.
Over successive generations this AWD ‘sleeper’ has been powered by turbocharged V8 and naturally aspirated V10 powerplants.
The current, fourth-generation version is available in ‘Avant’ (wagon) form only and can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 3.6 seconds.
The line-up currently starts at $252,600 for the RS6 Avant 4.0 Tfsi Quattro Mhev and ranges through to $399,000 for the range-topping RS6 Avant GT.
There are seven standard colours for the RS6 including two greys, silver, white, black, red and blue. An additional 'crystal effect' black comes at an additional $1400, while further custom colours can be ordered from $10,900.
The RS6 is equipped with a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 463kW/850Nm. It sends drive to all four wheels via an eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
The RS6 is capable of sprinting from 0-100km/h in 3.4 seconds according to manufacturer specifications. Top speed is 305km/h.
The RS6 features sports seats clad in leather trim, gloss and chrome finishes, with either aluminium or carbon inlays depending on the pack chosen. It also has black cloth headlining, and a panoramic sunroof.
I would expect it to depreciate at the same rate as any other car in the short to medium term, but it could hold its value longer as it becomes more desirable as a collector car.

The Audi RS6 has five seats clad in 'Valcona' leather trim. The front two seats are bucket-style with electric adjust, heating, and ventilation.
Boot space is 548 litres for the RS6 with the second row up, expanding to 1658L if you fold it flat.
Based on its official fuel consumption and 72-litre fuel tank, the RS6 can theoretically travel 610km between fills.
