Peter Anderson
Contributing journalist

Peter grew up in a house in Western Sydney where automotive passion extended to white Sigmas and Magnas. At school he discovered "those" magazines that weren't to be found in the house. Magazines that offered him the chance to sit in the driver's seat of cars he’d never even heard of let alone seen. His path to rebellion was set - he would love cars, know cars and want to write about cars, much to his family’s disgust. They wanted him to be a teacher. He bought a series of terrible cars and lusted after Ford Escort Cosworths, the Alfa Romeo 164 Q and occasionally kicked himself for selling his 1977 Alfa GTV. From 1.0-litre three cylinders to roaring V12s, Peter has driven them all and can't wait to tell you all about it.

Nissan Qashqai N-TEC 2018 review: snapshot
By Peter Anderson · 01 Dec 2017
The N-TEC spec level is almost a limited edition. Slotted in to the 2018 range at launch while production of the Ti's extra safety systems ramped up, the $36,490 N-TEC filled the breach. Sitting above the ST-L, the N-TEC features 19-inch alloys, active LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, auto headlights and

Kia Picanto 2018 review
By Peter Anderson · 29 Nov 2017
The Kia Picanto commands almost half of all micro-car sales in this country, so what makes it so compelling? Price? Looks? Quality? Being fun to drive? Safety gear? Or could it be all of those things?

Toyota RAV4 GX 2018 review
By Peter Anderson · 24 Nov 2017
The RAV4 set the standard for the medium-size SUV market before there even was one, with just compatriots Honda and Suzuki to deal with. Since its first generation way back in 1994, the RAV4  has become such a fixture on our roads. It's nearly 2018 and the RAV4 is well into its fourth generation while most of its

Toyota RAV4 GXL 2018 review
By Peter Anderson · 24 Nov 2017
Toyota is used to taking hold of a market segment and giving it a good old throttle. For years, the Corolla was king, the Camry was not only made and bought here but sent overseas, and a funny looking, high-riding hatchy sort of four-wheel drive thing came along in 1994. It had a dumb name, attracted opprobrium for

Toyota RAV4 2018 review
By Peter Anderson · 24 Nov 2017
You can't stand still, even if you're often number one on a car buyer's list and your name is Toyota. Reputation is hard-won and easily lost, and the Japanese company hasn't dropped the ball.

Subaru Outback 3.6R 2017 review: snapshot
By Peter Anderson · 10 Nov 2017
The Outback 3.6R is probably the weirdest model in the range, partly because it has what is probably the only remaining flat-six engine in the world.
