Good SUV for outback caravan towing

I'm trying to decide between a used 2013 Land Rover Discovery 4 with 41,000 km on it and a new (old stock) MY15 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo as our next vehicle. It will be used to tow our 2.5-tonne (unladen) caravan and we intend doing many outback trips, hot climate etc. Both vehicles are within cooee of $60,000, and I was hoping you could assist with your thoughts and recommendations.

The Discovery hasn’t done a lot of kays for its age, presumably those it has done have been tooling around town. If it’s in great shape, has been well maintained and serviced and hasn’t been used off-road I would tend to go for the Land Rover. Against that the Jeep has a good reputation as a towing vehicle, and it’s new, which adds to its appeal.
