Jeep Grand Cherokee 2014: Can I import my US version to Australia?

I am moving to Melbourne from the USA for a Doctor of Physiotherapy Program in January. Can I import my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee and drive it in Australia if it has a left-side steering wheel? I assume I would need a special permit, if this is possible.

No, you can't. If it was 25 years old you could drive it on historical registration, but as it's not 25 years old you can't do that. You could have it converted to right-hand drive and then approved by a recognised engineer for Australian registration, but that would seem to be an expensive exercise for the purpose.
