    Nissan Pathfinder timing chain

    We are very happy with our 2007 Nissan Pathfinder 2.5-litre diesel automatic, but at a recent caravan rally we were informed that there was a problem with the timing belt/chain failing. The person making the claim stated that he had seen the 'blown' motor due to a failed timing belt/chain. Nowhere in the service manual can we find a reference to the timing belt/chain needing to be serviced and/or replaced. As we have not encountered any problems either with the vehicle we are interested to know if you have heard of any such problems?

    The engine has a timing chain and doesn't require servicing, and there doesn't appear to be a problem with it breaking.
