The RS Q3 will rocket into Audi showrooms in August.

Audi Australia has confirmed pricing for its second-generation RS Q3 high-performance SUV, deliveries of which are expected to begin in August.

Offered in traditional wagon and Sportback coupe body styles priced from $89,990 and $92,990 plus on-road costs respectively, the RS Q3 will be available to reserve online from 10:00am tomorrow (Thursday, February 13).

To secure one of the first examples, buyers will need to put down a refundable $1000 deposit via www.audionlinereservation.com.au, with the rest of the transaction completed through their preferred Audi dealer.

This combination helps the RS Q3 sprint from a standstill to 100km/h in a scant 4.5 seconds.

Standard equipment includes sports suspension with adaptive dampers, variable-ratio steering, a sports exhaust system, 21-inch alloy wheels, Matrix LED headlights, rear privacy glass, metallic paintwork and black exterior trim.

Inside, a touchscreen MMI multimedia system, satellite navigation, Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay support, a 680W Bang & Olufsen sound system with 15 speakers, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless smartphone charging, sports seats, three-zone climate control and Nappa leather upholstery with honeycomb stitching feature.

Advanced driver-assist systems extend to autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-keep and steering assist, active blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, hill-descent control and -start assist, tyre pressure monitoring and surround-view cameras.

Justin’s dad chose to miss his birth because he wanted to watch Peter Brock hopefully win Bathurst, so it figures Justin grew up to have a car obsession, too – and don’t worry, his dad did turn up in time after some stern words from his mum. That said, despite loving cars and writing, Justin chose to pursue career paths that didn’t lend themselves to automotive journalism, before eventually ending up working as a computer technician. But that car itch just couldn’t be scratched by his chipped Volkswagen Golf R (Mk7), so he finally decided to give into the inevitable and study a Master of Journalism at the same time. And even with the long odds, Justin was lucky enough to land a full-time job as a motoring journalist soon after graduating and the rest, as they say, is history. These days, Justin happily finds himself working at CarsGuide during the biggest period of change yet for the automotive industry, which is perhaps the most exciting part of all. In case you’re wondering, Justin begrudgingly sold the Golf R (sans chip) and still has plans to buy his dream car, an E46 BMW M3 coupe (manual, of course), but he is in desperate need of a second car space – or maybe a third.
