Forget Ferraris and Lamborghinis, one of the biggest stars at this year's Australian International Motor Show in Sydney will be a $650,000 exotic and fast Dutch machine.

The C8 Spyder supercar, made by Spyker Cars, will make its Australian debut in October. It will be the first Spyker imported into Australia, although there are plans to sell other Spyker models here.

The hand-built convertible sprints from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 300km/h.

To achieve this, it is fitted with an all-aluminium V8 engine. The mid-mounted engine, sourced from Audi, delivers a massive 300kW of power.

The interior of the Spyder was designed by an aircraft cockpit designer.

At least one Australian will be driving their own Spyker in the near future, with one order already taken for the model coming to Sydney, and a handful of orders expected from the show.

The brand entered this year's Formula One for the first time and briefly led the European GP in July.
