The 420i Convertible is BMW’s cheapest drop top, and sits below the 430i line. It starts at $85,900 for either an eight-speed automatic transmission or six-speed manual transmission.

This list price is $11,000 less than the 430i Convertible above it. The 2016 update adds new standard features including Adaptive M suspension, a heads-up display, powered folding exterior mirrors surround-view camera and lane departure warning.

The entire 420i line features BMW’s new 135kW/270Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine, paired with a standard eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. A six-speed manual gearbox is a no-cost option.

Is the 420i Convertible your pick of the new 4 Series range? Tell us why, or why not, in the comments below.
