Citroen DS has two meanings. The first is a magnificently eccentric and distinctive range of front-wheel drive cars produced for 20 years from the mid-1950s well into the ‘70s.
Worth noting déesse is goddess in French.
The other is a contemporary Citroen sub-brand, DS Automobiles, a performance luxury subsidiary named in part to honour the iconic model that went before it.
The line-up currently starts at $2,970 for the DS 23 Pallas and ranges through to $4,950 for the range-topping DS 23 Confort Safari.
