    The Ferrari 458 will go down in the annals of the legendary Italian supercar maker’s history as the last car of its kind to be powered by a naturally aspirated V8.

    In 'standard' 458 Italia trim, the Fezza's 4.5-litre hand-built engine makes an astonishing 419kW without a turbocharger or supercharger in sight, and the prodigious power is sent from the mid-mounted engine to the rear wheels via a seven-speed automatic gearbox. Priced from $245,080, and off to the moon at $389,400, the 458 positively drips carbon fibre and is a strict two-seater proposition.

    It’s not the sticker price that makes the 458 such an expensive car, though – the options list is several pages long and features a lot of zeros. In fact, Ferrari says owners spend an average of $60,000 personalising their machines.
