    Fiat's resurgence over the last decade has been largely led by one product; the reborn 500.

    The company decided to leverage that popularity for the 500X, a high-riding version of the 500. Designed around a platform it shares with Jeep's Renegade, the five-seat, five-door 500X is unashamedly related by design to its little brother. Available from $18,040 for the 500X Pop before climbing to $29,480 for the 500X Pop Star, the petrol-powered 500X is available in front- and all-wheel drive variants.

    On sale since early 2015, the 500X has struggled for traction in a tough small SUV field.

    The Fiat 500X's cabin is a bit more restrained than its exterior and I quite like the band of colour stretching across the dash. The 500X is meant to be a bit more grown up than the 500, so there's a proper dash, more sensible design choices but it still has the big buttons, perfect for the meaty fingers of people who won't be buying this car.
