A more affordable but still luxriously appointed alterantive to an Audi Q7 or BMW X5, the GV80 comes with a choice of powerful petrol and diesel engines.
A direct rival to the Genesis GV80 would be the Lexus RX.
The line-up currently starts at $128,914 for the GV80 3.5T AWD LUX 7 Seat and ranges through to $139,614 for the range-topping GV80 3.5T AWD LUX Coupe RSE.
The GV80 comes standard with leather upholstery with a centre consoled trimmed in real wood, and cloth-knit pillars and headlining. The 'Luxury Pack' on the 3.5T Luxury adds Nappa leather upholstery throughout the cabin.
The GV80 comes in a choice of eight colours including 'Savile Silver', 'Makalu Grey', 'Capri Blue' along with matt colours such as 'Brunswick Green'.
The Genesis GV80 comes standard with seven seats but a 'Luxury Package' can replace the second row bench seat with two 'captain's chairs' for a total of six seats.
The GV80's standard features include leather upholstery with heated and ventilated seats front rows, there’s the 14.5-inch media display in the cockpit with sat nav, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, proximity key with auto tailgate, a 21-speaker Lexicon sound system, climate control for the front and second rows, a panoramic sun roof plus LED headlights and running lights.
The 'Luxury Package' adds a a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, heated and ventilated second row seats, soft close doors, and Nappa leather upholstery.
The 0-100km/h time for the diesel GV80 with the 3.0-litre engine is 6.8 seconds while the petrol variant with the 3.5-litre V6 can do it in 5.5 seconds. Expect a top-speed around 240km/h.
The GV80 comes with a choice of two engines, a 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder turbo-diesel making 204kW/588Nm and a 3.5-litre turbo-petrol V6 making 279kW/530Nm.
The cargo capacity of the GV80 with the second row in place is 727 litres.
The range of the diesel GV80 is about 900km while the petrol variant is about 680km
