Coming just before the Holden HK was the Holden HR, a large family car built in Australia and rivalling the likes of the XR Ford Falcon.

It was offered in sedan and wagon body styles appealing to families, but was also available as a ute and a panel van.

The line-up currently starts at $1,980 for the HR Premier and ranges through to $4,620 for the range-topping HR Special.
