Drifting for eight hours isn’t an easy task.

Yesterday we brought you a story about how BMW planned to refuel its M5 in a crazy car-to-car stunt to break a drifting world record.

Taking place in America, these mad men created an idea to use two cars, one to refuel the other while in motion, meaning that someone would be hanging out the back window trying to couple the hose.

Danger Zone!
Danger Zone!

BMW driving instructor, Johan Schwartz was in control of the ‘record breaking’ car while Chief Instructor, Matt Mullins (driver) and Matt Butts were in the refuelling car.

Over the eight hours, the large twin-turbo V8 sedan was topped up with petrol five times with only a few small hiccups that could of resutled with Matt Butts getting sandwiched between both M5s.

By the end of it, Johan Schwartz smashed the world record for the longest continuous drift which originally stood at 165km and now stands at 374km which is longer than the length of Tasmania!

If this wasn’t enough, Schwartz and Mullins also managed to set a record for the longest twin vehicle drift (water assisted) with 63km.

Winners are grinners.

What would it take to beat this record? Let us know in the comments.
