Pontiac might be dead but the Trans Am is well and truly alive.
Those who say the muscle car is dying thanks to ever-tightening emission standards clearly aren't paying attention to what America is doing.
The likes of the Ford Mustang, Chevy Camaro and Dodge Challenger are still flying the flag high for over-powered V8 engines and despite the death of Pontiac in 2010, the brand is still represented by the Trans Am.
TransAm Depot was formed in 2011 and has been converting Camaro's into modern day Trans Ams, even GTOs, since 2012.
The company has gone to another level, bringing the 455 Super Duty back to life with its latest creation.

Based on the sixth-gen Camaro, TransAm Depot tears the car down to its chassis before adding new parts like carbon-fibre body panels, upgraded suspension, larger Brembo brakes, Michelin tryes and of course, the engine.
Starting off with Chevy's LT1 6.2-litre V8, the team replaces the crank, camshaft, pistons (essentially everything) and expands the capacity to 7.5-litres.
Topping it all off is a 2.3-litre Magnuson supercharger which brings power to 746kW (1000hp) and 1418Nm of torque, bigger numbers than any production muscle car from the 'Big Three'.

Available with either a manual or auto, how the car doesn't burn trough its gearbox or simply sit there spinning its wheels is a mystery.
Styling is a throwback to the second-generation Firebird and Trans Ams from the '70s and the new model even includes the iconic "Screaming-Chicken" on the bonnet.
