Learning the limits of the 6th gen Mustang was key to this wholesome event.
The rise of the new 6th generation Ford Mustang in Australia has led to a demand for both modifications and the need for events for owners to be involved in. Lots of groups, clubs and modification shops are now out there to meet this demand. These include Mustang Motorsport and the Melbourne Mustang 6G Club.

Mustang Motorsport worked in conjunction with Evolve Driver training, and together they recently hosted a track day for a large group of Mustang Owners, 6G club members and customers of Mustang Motorsport at Sandown Raceway in Melbourne.

It gave owners the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of their car on track.

The team from Evolve Driver training and their instructors, all of which had extensive Motorsport experience, led the owners through a variety of warm up exercises including straight line braking and slalom.

From there the owners were let loose on the track with an instructor next to them to help them discover and fine tune the best lines around the track.

During the course of the day the owners got the chance to do multiple sessions on the track and improve both their times and their understanding of the limits of their cars.

A couple of interesting cars on track during the day included a recently completed Shelby Super Snake, a left hand drive FR500C race car and Mustang Motorsports' own Shelby GT Tarmac rally car.

During the lunch break, the team from Harley Davison TV took out their recently completed Harley Davidson Edition Mustang with a group of bikes to do a couple of laps around the track.

This was followed by a large group from the Mustangs Owners Club of Australia who took a large group of kids who have been suffering from cancer for a joy ride around the track.

At the end of the day there were a lot of very happy owners, with no damaged cars, just lots of smiles and people excited to do the next one.
