If you believe everything a startup hypercar manufacturer tells you, you're silly.

Like, if you believe that the Alieno Arcanum can actually produce 3893kW of power and 8800Nm of torque, you're gullible. If you think the production version will be offered in four different output levels, with the entry-level model pegged at a measly 1946kW, you're a bit of a loon.

And if you think Alieno will actually have six electric motors per wheel - and yeah, of course the car will be all-wheel drive, so it'll have 24 motors to supplement its (up to) 180kWh graphene LiPo battery pack - you're probably also going to believe that the 1000km of range that the Arcanum claims is bang on, too.

But these are the claims that are being made by the Bulgarian company, which has shown a few sketches of what appears to be a hypercar-crushing EV... at least on paper. And not only does it have alien technology (apparently), it's also highly robotic (sure).

Let's wait and see if the Alieno Arcanum actually eventually gets built. I'm prepared to be labelled silly, if it does.

Someone hook this company up to a lie detector test, stat.

After completing his media degree at Macquarie University, Matt was an intern at a major news organisation as part of the motoring team, where he honed his skills in the online automotive reviews and news space. He did such a good job there they put him on full time, and since then he has worked across different automotive media outlets, before starting with CarsGuide in October 2017. At CarsGuide Matt has helped shape the video output of the business, while also playing a key role in management behind the scenes, and helping in-market new car buyers make the right choice by continually evolving CarsGuide's comparison reviews. Driving more than 100 cars a year seemed like a dream to Matt when he first started out, but now it's all just part of the job - a job he loves and plans to stay in for a long time to come. Matt is also an expert in used car values, as he's always on the hunt for a bargain - be it a project beater or a prime example of the breed.
