The USA: Home of the free and the worst car conversions of all time

Some people have an 'interesting' taste when it comes to personalising their cars and the US produces ridiculous creations every day.

If you let your imagination run wild I doubt that anyone could come up with anything close to what these Americans have created.

Here are the top five wildest conversions that have appeared on the internet in the past couple of days.

5. Mini Hummer truck 

Back when the Hummer H3 was in production, Midwestern Americans already saw it as a small truck, but obviously the owner of this H3 wanted to take things that bit further.

Complete with side smokestacks, a wind deflector, additional horns, and a flaming dragon paint job, this thing will get you noticed for all the wrong reasons.

4. Pick-up School truck

Doesn’t this defeat the purpose of a school bus? Not really. In fact, it gives a new meaning to pile kids in the back.

3. School bus camper van

Here’s another former school bus which has been converted into something else; a camper van.

While very practical, the bus stands taller than some trees and the top half doesn't look like it's been secured correctly. Or at all. 

2. Monster truck RX-8

Nothing says American pride like a Mazda RX-8 converted into monster truck, sitting outside of a fireworks tent, and flying a combined US and Confederate flag.

Safe to say the rotary engine has been replaced by a V8. Didn’t see that one coming.

1. Grave digger hearse 

Have you ever been to a funeral and realised that there hasn’t been a hole dug for the recently deceased?

With this car that will never been a problem as there is a scoop attached to the back, allowing for anyone to dig a grave whenever needed.
