    The Porsche 928 is a 2+2 seater grand tourer sports car made and sold between 1978 and 1996. Porsche had big plans for the 928 with this large, spacious and practical high performance car chosen to become the brand's flagship, replacing the smaller, ageing 911 the sales of which were waning.

    The 928 wasn’t just different in look and size to the 911, it broke away from the flat four- and six-cylinder rear-mounted engine layouts Porsche was known for and used a front-engined V8.

    Porsche discontinued the 928 in 1996 due to low sales and expensive parts that weren’t shared with other models within the brand.

    The line-up currently starts at $30,910 for the 928 GTS and ranges through to $37,180 for the range-topping 928 GTS.
