2024 Suzuki Jimny 3-door auto is back! Fresh supply of compact 4x4 cult favourite means Aussie order books have reopened

The Jimny three-door auto has been unavailable since mid-January this year

Having pressed the pause button on local sales in January this year, Suzuki Australia has confirmed the four-speed automatic version of its Suzuki Jimny, in current three-door guise, is once again available for immediate sale.

In an official statement the brand said, "Due to increased production opportunities in 2024, Suzuki Australia has managed to secure a greater supply on Jimny. As such, we are pleased to announce the immediate return of the Automatic transmission sales order opportunity for Jimny 3 Door."

Suzuki Australia General Manager – Automobile, Mr Michael Pachota added, "Whilst back orders are still reaching as far as the second half of 2024, we have managed to secure incremental volume that will allow us to flick the switch back on for the Auto transmission in Jimny.

"This ties in perfectly with the exciting launch of Jimny XL today to complete our total product offering of the Suzuki Jimny for Australia in 2024," he said.

The much anticipated five-door XL version of the Jimny adds two extra doors and more than 300mm of additional length to the ultra-popular Jimny formula.

Pricing for the Jimny XL is yet to be confirmed, but for reference the three-door version of the 75kW/130Nm 1.5-litre 4WD is priced from $30,490, before on-road costs, for the entry-level Lite manual, rising to $33,490 for the GLX automatic.
