Carsguide Contributing journalist Peter Anderson had this to say at the time: The 1.4 is definitely the sweet spot of the new A1 range – not much more expensive than the base model, it comes with a bit of extra mumbo and a more casual demeanour. Of course, ours was loaded up a bit, but you could go without a a pack and nip and tuck a few costs to keep it under $35,000 and for that you’ll have one the best small cars on the road.
