2022 Volvo XC60 price and features: Revised range for Lexus NX, BMW X3, Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz GLC and Genesis GV70 rival

The top-spec model has been renamed the XC60 Recharge Plug-in Hybrid.

The Volvo XC60 line-up has changed once again, with the brand adjusting the offering for its flagship model and tweaking prices across the line-up.

The recently added mild-hybrid mainstream models - now dubbed B5 and B6 instead of the existing T5 and T6 monikers - have seen increases.

The entry-level XC60 B5 Momentum is now $69,490 (MSRP), which is up $950 over the prices announced in July 2021.

Also up is the B5 Inscription, now listing at $76,490 (MSRP), up $601.

The sporty looking B6 R-Design grade, which we tested recently, has jumped to $82,490 (MSRP), an increase of $602.

But the biggest news is the revised top-spec plug-in hybrid version of the XC60, which was previously called the T8 Polestar Engineered.

With the Polestar car brand now present in the market in its own right, that part of the name and most of the influence from the sportier Polestar influence has been dashed.

The B6 R-Design is now priced at ,490.

In its place is the XC60 Recharge Plug-in Hybrid, which lists at $97,990 (MSRP), meaning a drop of $2970 over the last model.

Volvo Australia says the new top-spec PHEV model now boasts 90km of electric driving range when fully charged, while its all-wheel-drive powertrain is capable of 233kW and 400Nm from the 2.0-litre supercharged and turbocharged petrol engine, while the rear-mounted electric motor adds 107kW and 309Nm. The result is a 0-100km/h time of 4.8 seconds, and a claimed combined cycle fuel consumption of 1.6L/100km

The Polestar name has been dropped from the sportier versions of the XC60.

It loses some of the go-fast bits of the lairy Polestar predecessor, but retains adaptive air suspension, a Bowers and Wilkins stereo system, Nappa leather interior trim and 21-inch alloy wheels.

As with the rest of the model range for the 2022 update, the XC60 has an integrated Google multimedia interface with Google Maps, Google Play and Google Assistant, but lacks Apple CarPlay and Android Auto phone mirroring at this point in time.
