Pricing is up across the range for most of Volvo’s new-car offerings for 2023, with the adjustment meaning some models are thousands of dollars more expensive.

Only two variants have escaped the pricing changes, two lower specifications of the popular XC60 mid-size SUV.

The XC60 Plus B5 remains $72,990 as the entry price to the model, before on-road costs, and the step-up XC60 Ultimate B5 Bright is still $79,990.

The most affordable model in Volvo’s range remains the XC40, with its front-wheel-drive Plus B4 variant up $500 to $53,490 before on-roads.

Like all ‘B4’ Volvos, it makes 145kW and 300Nm from a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine.

At the other end of the range is the Volvo XC90 with three of its four variants $3000 more expensive than last year, aside from the $125,990 Ultimate T8 plug-in hybrid which is $4000 more expensive than in 2022.

For that, buyers do however benefit from 340kW and 709Nm, and a 0-100km/h sprint of 5.3 seconds.

The electric Volvo C40 models are both up by just $1000, the 170kW Recharge Pure is now $75,990 and the 300kW Twin Pure is $83,490.
