National Holden Motor Museum auction: Thousands of items including approximately 50 cars from 48-215 'FX' to VF Commodore as well as irreplaceable factory equipment and original Holden dealer signage going under the hammer in May

Plenty of immmaculate and irreplaceable Holden cars and items will cross the block.

After 30 years of operation in the historic Victorian Murray River town of Echuca, the contents of the National Holden Motor Museum is set to be auctioned off on Saturday, May 18 this year.

After earlier attempts to sell the museum as a going concern, the operators of the well-known hub of everything Holden, Mark Galea and Tony Galea, have decided to break up the collection and sell its contents individually through Melbourne-based auction house Burns & Co.

Burns & Co Director Ashley Burns has confirmed cataloguing will commence in mid-April with the auction lots presented online late that month and available for hands-on inspection on Friday May 17.

Mr Burns told CarsGuide that even at this early stage there has been “enormous interest” in the sale.

“Anything Holden-related always goes well, but with this auction there’s been early interest on some of the rare signage as well as the cars themselves,” he said.

The sale consists of around 50 cars, including pristine examples from roughly 70 years of Holden-badged vehicle production.
