New kid! 2024 Peugeot 2008 and its electric car version get a refresh before the current EV lands in Aus!

Peugeot has revealed the newest update for its smallest SUV, the 2008, with a fresh face and upgraded powertrains.

The 2024 Peugeot 2008, which is confirmed for Australia, now features an upgraded electric drivetrain and a larger 54kWh battery for the electric e-2008 variant, now able to cover a claimed 405km driving range up from the previous 344km.

The EV now makes 116kW, up 18 per cent over the previous version, which is yet to arrive in Australia.

The petrol 2008 can also be had in mild-hybrid form with a 1.2-litre petrol engine paired toa 48-volt system in some variants, while a base non-hybrid version with the same engine is also available.

The 2008 also gains a 10.0-inch multimedia screen as standard and a redesigned 10.0-inch digital instrument cluster with a 3D display on GT variants. The brand’s i-Connect multimedia system features on Allure variants and higher.

This comes just a week after Peugeot Australia confirmed the current version of the e-2008 will launch in Australia in Q3 this year, with a starting price of $59,990 before on-road costs.

On the facelifted 2008, the brand’s local spokesperson said the global reveal was exciting news for Peugeot Australia. 

“The Peugeot 2008, including the e-2008, is an important part of our ongoing range in Australia,” they said.

Inside is a 10.0-inch multimedia screen.

“Anticipated launch details for the facelifted 2008 including timing, pricing and specification will be confirmed at a later date for the Australian market.”

The current 2008 starts with the base Allure variant at $38,945 before on-roads in Australia, with the GT starting from $43,397. Expect the facelift to be more expensive when it arrives.
