Peter and Nikki spend time discussing the merits of owning such a huge car. The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is one of the triumvirate of ute-based family SUVs, joining the Ford Everest and the Toyota Fortuner on the rugged end of the spectrum.
The Exceed is the top-of-the-range Pajero Sport but is among the cheapest of any of its competitors while still packing a decent amount of tech - including my beloved Apple CarPlay - and important safety gear such as seven airbags, around-view camera, collision warning and AEB.
I ask whether the low price can cushion the blow of the engine putting out a weedy 133kW to push 2100kg along (but I applaud the eight-speed automatic transmission) while Nikki works out if the Pajero Sport is the answer to the one-car-family's needs.
What we can tell you is that brown is not the Pajero Sport's most flattering colour.
