Hyundai Kona 2021 review: Elite snapshot
The Elite is my personal pick of the Kona bunch, with this mid-tier ($31,600) offering the best mix of price and equipment.

The Zen is the second in the three tier range and is the best value of the three at $30,790.
You get 17-inch wheels, a cloth interior, auto headlights, climate control, air-conditioning, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the 7.0-inch landscape-oriented touchscreen, full LED headlights (that’s a nice touch), front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera, walk-away auto-locking, a heated leather steering wheel, auto wipers, two-tone paint option, keyless entry and start with the Renault key card and wireless phone charging and a space saver spare.
All three Capturs are powered by the same 1.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 113kW and 270Nm of torque, delivering a claimed combined cycle fuel figure of 6.6L/100km.
The standard safety package consists of six airbags, ABS, stability and traction controls, forward AEB (up to 170km/h) with pedestrian and cyclist detection (10-80km/h), reversing camera, rear parking sensors, forward collision warning, lane departure warning and lane keep assist. The Zen has reverse cross-traffic alert and blind-spot monitoring as standard whereas that's a $1000 option on the Life.
Captur was awarded a maximum five-star ANCAP rating via its arrangement with Euro NCAP.
