Warranty
My friend purchased a 2009 Kia Carnival for $11,000 plus $867 for a warranty. In three months the car’s motor ceased working and now she is looking at a $7000 replacement motor. She had the car serviced before she left the car dealer. She had a mechanic visit her a month ago when she noticed coolant was disappearing but not leaking on the ground. He recommended a flush at the next service. A mechanic has since looked at the vehicle and stated that the radiator is blocked.
This blocked radiator is not covered by insurance unless it was fractured, leaking or cracked. The car had only done 174,000 Kms when purchased. It has had two previous owners, the previous owner doing his own service on the vehicle. My friend is distraught. She has six children and used all her savings to purchase what she thought was a decent safe vehicle to transport her family in. Please can you advise or support this person?
My wife was recently told that her Hyundai iX35 two-litre petrol engine had suffered from premature engine failure at less than 80,000km on the clock. The car is six years old so is out of warranty. After doing a bit of digging I discovered that this is not an isolated incident and is occurring more often than not. One wrecking yard informed my mechanic that it is supplying a Hyundai dealership in Brisbane at least one engine a month. I am just wondering if anyone else out there has come across a similar issue with the iX35 petrol engine?
I have a 2018 Hyundai Kona Go and the muffler has rusted and is to be replaced under warranty. Is this normal under 27K? Can I expect the new one to last for only two years?
I have a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Active X V6 which was great until it suffered engine failure at 60,000 km. The vehicle has been with the dealer since March this year. Approval for the warranty replacement of the engine had to come from the factory in South Korea but has now been finalised. After much delay I am told that Hyundai now has all the required parts. However, they still cannot tell me when my vehicle will be fixed and returned to me. How can I get some action and answers from Hyundai? Where do I go?
My two-year-old Nissan Qashqai has been in for service seven times for a systems warning fault and it is still coming up on my screen. As it appears Nissan cannot fix the problem would I have any recourse? Your assistance in this matter would be appreciated.
