The warning lights on my partner’s 2010 Holden Cruze are coming on, including the traction control and check engine lights. A diagnostic check was done at 60,000 km and I was told it was a misfire on cylinder three, so we replaced the coil pack and spark plugs. The fault was cleared on the machine, but it then showed another fault about trailer coupling, and the motor still has a miss and lacks power. I was wondering if you or anyone else had come across a problem like this before, as we know it is definitely not the coil pack or spark plugs.
It would just be guessing to try and diagnose it from what you have told us, so I would suggest you have an auto electrician check the trailer wiring, and once that’s eliminated, which I’m sure it will be, run another diagnostic check. It’s more likely to be a faulty sensor sending an erroneous message to the car’s computer.
