2023 Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio range scores mild facelift and limited editions, but will Australia ever see them?

The mild facelift includes new headlights and a revised bumper design.

Alfa Romeo has revealed 100th anniversary editions of the Giulia sedan and Stelvio SUV, which bring the facelifted look from the rest of the range to the performance-spec Quadrifoglio variants.

The facelifted look includes a re-worked bumper design, new and more contemporary light fittings, and a fresh 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

100th anniversary editions also get a power boost for the 2.9-litre bi-turbo V6 (now up to 388kW), and for the first time in the range a mechanical limited-slip differential. Aesthetic touches include commemorative badges and gold brake calipers. Inside, there is also gold trim, 100th anniversary badges and "3D-effect" carbon fibre trim.

The 100th anniversary editions are limited to just 100 Stelvios and 100 Giulias globally, although it is unclear if any examples will be allocated for the Australian market, Alfa Romeo has been contacted for comment.

Supposedly the Stelvio and Giulia pair, which share the Giorgio platform, are set to be discontinued imminently and replaced by electric versions which are promised to produce up to 746kW with an 800-volt battery architecture good for up to 800km of driving range.

Alfa Romeo has revealed 100th anniversary editions of the Giulia sedan and Stelvio SUV.

Alfa Romeo is having a hard year in Australia, having moved just 100 units as of the beginning of April, down nearly 40 per cent year-on-year.

The brand is placing its hopes on the new Tonale small SUV which is due in the first half of 2023. It promises to usher in a new electrified era for Alfa, complete with the choice of mild-hybrid or plug-in hybrid drivetrains.

The facelifted look includes more contemporary light fittings, and a fresh 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

One thing is for sure, this newcomer will have a fight cut out for it against the popular Volvo XC40, Audi Q3, and BMW X1.
