More spy images of the highly anticipated Kia Tasman have surfaced as the Korean carmaker gears up for the model’s rumoured launch at the Jeddah motor show on October 29.
Images obtained by The Korean Car Blog show the Tasman ute in full road-going spec, albeit with significant camouflage on the vehicle’s front and rear.
Unlike previous images we see it finally in one of Kia’s colour schemes, which appears to be the ‘Steel Grey’ hue with a smattering of black plastic-looking trims, as is offered on the Kia Sorento.
The Tasman shows a glimpse of its off-road credentials with its small six-spoke black rims and chunky Continental all-terrain tyres. There’s also red front recovery points that sit above what appears to be an underbody bash plate.
Other features include vertical, rectangular LED headlights and tail lights, as well as black roof rails and apparent rear integrated steps for easy access into the Tasman’s rear tub.
That’s the extent of the teasers, which unfortunately don’t include any interior images.

Based on previous snaps, we can speculate the Tasman will carry Kia’s new 12.3-inch dual-screen driver’s display and multimedia screen configuration as debuted on the EV9 SUV.
It will also likely have Kia’s new two-tone steering wheel, which will include physical buttons, as well as a column shift-style gear selector, as is featured on newer Kia and Hyundai models.
Powertrain figures are yet to be officially confirmed, though the most likely option is a version of the 2.2-litre turbo diesel four-cylinder engine, currently used in the Sorento SUV, which is capable of 148kW/440Nm.

Kia Australia’s Head of Product Planning, Roland Rivero, told CarsGuide earlier this year that there are a suite of non-negotiables for the Tasman that include a five-star ANCAP safety rating, a 3500kg brake towing capacity and greater than one-tonne payload.
Kia will also apply local suspension and performance tuning tailored to Australian roads and driving conditions, so expect performance that can challenge class-leading rivals such as the Ford Ranger and Toyota HiLux.
The Tasman is expected to go on sale in Australia in the first half of 2025.
